An SUV was destroyed in an explosion at a Van Nuys shopping center parking lot late Thursday night. Sky5 was over the scene near the intersection of Van Nuys Boulevard and Sherman Way shortly after 11 p.m.
The badly mangled Toyota 4Runner could be seen in a Super King Markets parking lot. Car parts and debris from the blast were scattered many yards away.
