कन्हैया कुमार ने इस दौरान कहा कि जेएनयू कहता है कि इस देश में जनता की चुनी हुई सरकार है, जनता ने टैक्स दिया है. सरकार जो प्राइवेट जहाज पर उड़ती है, जो अपने दोस्तों को बड़े ठेके दिलाती है. उस सरकार की जिम्मेदारी है कि वह सरकार शिक्षण संस्थान को बचाए, रेलवे को बचाए. राष्ट्रवाद के नाम पर सरकार राष्ट्रीय संपत्ति को बेचना बंद करे. कन्हैया ने कहा कि आपको (केंद्र सरकार) क्या लगता है कि कभी आप रिजर्वेशन को गाली देकर , कभी मारिट का तर्क लाकर हमारी लड़ाई गुमराह कर देंगे. हम आपसे बहस के लिए तैयार हैं. मेरिट ये होता है कि इस विश्वविद्याय में गरीब से गरीब बच्चे अपने मेरिट से यहां पढ़ने आ सकें.
