Kali ini kita membahas wujud zat keempat setelah padat, cair dan gas yaitu plasma. Plasma adalah gas terionisasi yaitu gas yang kehilangan elektron luarnya akibat pemanasan yang sangat tinggi. Berbeda dengan gas, plasma bersifat menghantarkan listrik dan dapat dipengaruhi oleh medan magnet. Contoh plasma dalam kehidupan sehari-hari bisa kita lihat antara lain di lampu TL/neon, TV plasma, bola plasma, gas buang roket dan reaktor fusi nuklir. Plama juga merupakan bentuk dari fenomena alam petir, aurora dan upper athmosferic lightning. Di antariksa, plasma merupakan bentuk zat yang paling umum ditemukan yaitu pada matahari dan bintang, angin surya, medium antar planet, medium antar bintang, medium antar galaksi, piringan akresi dan nebula antar bintang.
