এ যেন কাঁঠালের রাজ্য। ভোরের আলো ফোটার সাথে সাথেই গ্রামীণ জপদের বাসিন্দাদের কাঁঠাল বেচাকেনার ধুম পড়েছে। এটি বাগুনি বাজার। বাংলাদেশের গাজীপুর জেলার কাপাসিয়া উপজেলা জনপদের কড়িহাতা ইউনিয়নে মাদুলি বিলের তীরে অবস্থিত। কাঁঠালের জন্য বিখ্যাত গাজীপুরের এই কাপাসিয়া উপজেলা জনপদ। এই অঞ্চলের লাল মাটিতে জন্মানো গাছের কাঁঠাল খুবই মিষ্টি এবং রসালো হয়ে থাকে বিধায় এর খ্যাতি রয়েছে সারা দেশ জুড়ে। সিলেট, হবিগঞ্জ, কুমিল্লা, চাঁদপুর, ব্রাহ্মণবাড়িয়া, নোয়াখালী সহ দেশের বিভিন্ন স্থান থেকে পাইকাররা কাঁঠাল কিনতে আসেন এই হাটে। পাইকারেরা প্রতি পিস কাঁঠাল 40 থেকে 50 টাকা দরে কিনেন। একেকজন বেপারি দুই তিন হাজার পিস কাঁঠাল কিনেন। প্রতি হাটে পাঁচ থেকে ছয় লক্ষ টাকার কাঁঠাল বেচাকেনা হয়। সপ্তাহের প্রতি শুক্র এবং মঙ্গলবার দিন সকাল বেলায় এখানে কাঁঠালের হাট বসে। আশেপাশের বিভিন্ন গ্রাম থেকে গ্রামের বাসিন্দারা তাদের নিজেদের গাছের কাঁঠাল এই হাটে বিক্রি করতে নিয়ে আসেন প্রতি হাটেরদিন ভোর বেলায়। ধারণা করা হয় প্রায় শত বছর পূর্বে এখানে বেগুনের বাজার বসতো বিধায় এই বাজারের নামকরণ করা হয়েছিল বাগুনি বাজার। পরবর্তীতে কোন এক সময় বেগুনের উৎপাতন কমে যাওয়ায় কাঠালের বাজার বসতে শুরু করে। বর্তমানে এখানে কাঁঠালের বাজার বসলেও নাম সেই বেগুনি বাজার রয়ে যায়। আগেকার দিনের সেই পুরনো লাল মাটির ঘরগুলো এখনও এই বাজারে দাঁড়িয়ে আছে কালের সাক্ষী হয়ে। শত বছরের ইতিহাস আর ঐতিহ্যকে ধারণ করে এখনো টিকে আছে অপরূপ সুন্দর এই গ্রামীণ হাট বাগুনি বাজার। This is the kingdom of jackals. Located on the banks of Maduli Bill in Karihata Union of Kapasia Upazila Township in Gazipur District, Bangladesh. This Kapasia upazila town of Gazipur is famous for jackfruit. Jackfruit grown in the red soil of this region is very sweet and delicious.This jackfruit is famous all over the country. Wholesalers from different parts of the country including Sylhet, Habiganj, Comilla, Chandpur, Brahmanbaria, Noakhali come to buy jackfruit in this market. Wholesalers buy jackfruit at Rs 40 to 50 per piece. Each merchant buys two to three thousand pieces of jackfruit. Jackfruit worth five to six lakh rupees is sold in this market every day. A jackfruit market is held here every Friday and Tuesday morning. Villagers from various nearby villages bring their own jackfruit of tree to sell in this market every morning. It is believed that this market was named Baguni Bazar because there used to be an eggplant market about a hundred years ago. Later, due to the decrease in the production of brinjal, the kathal market began to settle. At present the jackfruit market is located here, but the name remains the Baguni Bazaar. The old red mud houses of yesteryear are still standing in this market as a witness of the times.
