Why I Hate 22 Long Rifle For SHTF
.22 LR ammo has a lot of uses for survival prepping. But it is not a good cartridge for SHTF. And I hate that preppers simp for it so hard.
Choosing the right guns and ammunition for the job at hand is imperative. And although SHTF will be a survival scenario in many ways, it also brings challenges with it that won't be easily overcome by .22 Long Rifle. At the end of the day, it's cheap ammo that you can get a lot of easily which is why preppers love it so much. The issue is that you get what you pay for and at least in my experience, it is not the cartridge I would be willing to bet my life on during a full on TEOTWAWKI or WROL situation. I appreciate what the .22 LR brings to the table. But I hate it for being labeled as the best option for your "one rifle to rule them all" concept.
