When every teenager in the back of a Prius gets knocked up, Steve and Ellie are sure getting pregnant will be child's play. But as sex becomes increasingly un-sexy, and foreplay becomes more needles than necking, they face the tender, awkward trials of 'What to Expect when you're NOT Expecting.'
Made as part of the Crazy8s Film Society's Contest in 2016, "Trying" screened at the Edmonton International Film Festival, the Whistler Film Festival, the Vancouver Short Film Festival and the Vancouver International Women in Film Festival. It has garnered three Leo nominations, the Matrix Award for Outstanding BC Short, and also led to Shauna winning the Women in Film and TV Spotlight Image Award. Trying is Shauna's directorial debut.
