You can’t imagine it happening these days, but in 1985 Granada TV, the television company in the northwest of England, made a live broadcast presented by the late great Tony Wilson (of Factory Records fame) about the Manchester Bass Week that was taking place at the Royal Northern College of Music, another inspirational mass double bass event organised by the trail-blazing Rodney Slatford.
