Why did you pick this song, and how does it fit the theme?: I absolutely love Lee Hi's Breathe. Her vocals and soul just makes you want to cry. Once you figure out the lyrics, it makes it even worse. For me, the song is about failure, acceptance and love. Failure, because she sings to someone who is having a hard time, who feels like he's failed both himself and the world. For the longest time, to a certain extent, I've always been scared of failure--failure to meet perceived expectations of others, and more expectations of myself. But in time, I've learned to rely less on those expectations and just live sincerely.The song offers so much comfort. Just breathe. It preaches that it's okay to make mistakes. It's okay to accept that that's what makes us human. I think continuously trying to be better at that acceptance, is part of who I am. The last words say, "You did a good job," just wrapping it all up and offering some reassurance. It teaches to love, and to comfort those in need of comfort. Just like that, I am eternally grateful for the love and support I receive from family and friends. They're essential to what makes me who I am.
