Remember, fast speech isn't really about speaking "quickly"... but it may sound very quick to you since you are a non-native English speaker. Fast speech simply refers to the way native English speakers change and eliminate sounds as they speak normal, everyday English. If you are trying to sound more like a native speaker with an American English accent, I give lots of examples in this video to make you aware of what to listen for. Finally, learning pronunciation by reading how words are spelled is VERY confusing because English is not a phonetic language. So, the best way to learn pronunciation is to listen carefully and imitate what you hear. NOTE: Fast speech and connected speech are the same thing Also, here is the list of phrases I discuss in the video: -What are you doing later? -Where is he at? -Did you give it to him? -How did it go? -What do you mean? -Can I go? -How is it going? -Would you give it to me. -I have to go to the store -Where did you get them? -I don't know how to do it. ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• Download our free guides: →Practice your English with Native Speakers: https://englishfulltime.com/practice-w-native-speakers →Official IPA guide: https://englishfulltime.com/american-sounds-guide →Grammar guide to the Present Perfect Tense: https://englishfulltime.com/present-perfect →Intermediate to Advanced Masterclass: https://englishfulltime.com/intermediate-to-advanced/ Connect With Me 🙋🏼‍♀️ → Newsletter: https://www.englishfulltime.com/ → Instagram: http://instagram.com/theenglishcoach → Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/stefanietheenglishcoach/ → Twitter: https://twitter.com/EnglishFullTime → Business Inquiries: stefanie@englishfulltime.com Follow English Full:Time 👇🏼 → Website: https://www.englishfulltime.com/ → Instagram: http://instagram.com/englishfulltime → Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/englishfulltime ••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS (FAQ's) 🌎 Where are you from? -California 🗣 Do you speak another language? -Yes, I learned Spanish and speak fluently. ✈️ What countries have you traveled to? -Mexico, Argentina, Ireland, UK, Denmark, Switzerland, Italy 🇦🇷 Have you ever lived abroad? -Yes, I have lived in Argentina since January 2013 🤷🏼‍♀️ You speak too fast.
