In this video, I’m going to present to you a really interesting and strangely overlooked technique to balance colors. We’re going to see how to desaturate colors without loosing their qualities by using complementary colors in a very specific way and make sure to stay until the end because I’ll share one of the most valuable mixing tips I have in my repertoire. Note that all the pigment theory I describe might not work with your own paint, indeed, pigments vary a lot from one manufacturer to the next so you might obtain different results on your palette. The idea still works, you can adjust to the specific hue of your pigments and find the right complementary pairs for your paintings.
