Most people are aware of two stages of conscience - awake and asleep. We effortlessly traverse between these two stages. We carry some memories of one stage to the other but whatever we see and believe in one stage is rejected by our mind in the other stage. Kabir Sahib has said that both these stages are actually deceptive. Why? Because mind is involved in both these stages. Infact there are 6 stages of conscience - 3 are super conscience stages. Even in these stages mind is involved though at a lower level. The objective of mind is to ensure that we remain engaged in this world so that our soul cannot escape this world.
