Following the release of his self-titled studio album in May 2018, “Ne ke u rata” is Kommanda Obbs’ 1st official single released in 2020 under the label Tsépe Sethuamajoe. Composed of vocalist/ songwriter/ lyricyst Kommanda Obbs, accordionist and guitarist Mokete Auda and producer Bosco Afreeca, “NE KE U RATA” is a tale about lost love, an infectious slice of emotions mixed with a peculiar sense of humor. The song is a fusion of different musical backgrounds from Ragga, Afrobeat, country, alternative with Hip Hop and Famo (Traditional Sesotho Music) being foundational influences. Shot and directed by Brad Tapinos and Beven Godden in Leaotho and South Africa, the visuals of “NE KE U RATA” were meant to showcase rich Sesotho fashionable culture and the bright colors of Africa in general even though the song is about lost love.
