Moments after India Today TV exposed perpetrators of the JNU violence in a sting operation, the Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP) has distanced itself from one of the people who on camera confessed that he is a member of the ABVP and was actively involved in Sunday's violence in which nearly 30 people, including teachers were injured.
The person, Akshat Awasthi, a first year student of BA French, confessed on tape and detailed his involvement in the campus violence. He said he is member of the ABVP and was among those who beat up students with sticks after masking themselves.
