Breastfeeding is a very effective way to prevent pregnancy after birth as long as: the baby is less than 6 months old; he is breastfeeding day and night with no other fluids and foods; and the woman’s monthly bleeding has not returned. This video tells what a woman needs to know to rely on breastfeeding to prevent pregnancy after birth. This set of guidelines is known as the Lactational Amenorrhea Method (LAM).
