UKRAINE WAR: High-tech made in Germany! German drone producer on local production
A two-day reconstruction conference is currently taking place in Berlin. Yesterday, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky was present to discuss military aid such as Patriot systems and air defense systems. But the meeting was also about thinking about post-war reconstruction and building networks. The question is who wants to get involved with know-how and money in this uncertain situation.
One example is Sven Krupp, managing director of Quantum Systems. His company has developed a reconnaissance drone that is being used in Ukraine. Despite the risks, Quantum Systems decided to intensify its involvement in Ukraine as early as 2022. In 2023, they opened a service center and a production facility on site, supported by politicians and the military. Krupp emphasizes that financial support from federal government funding was helpful, but raising the funds is a challenge.
Another aspect is employee safety. Quantum Systems has 35 employees in Ukraine and had to change location to increase its attractiveness and be able to recruit better. However, the issue of military conscription remains present and the company is in constant communication with Ukrainian authorities to make the right decision. The production facility is secured as best as possible, including a bunker system for employees. Despite the risks, Quantum Systems continues to invest proactively in Ukraine in order to make a positive contribution.
