Kobad Ghandy talks about what happened when Afzal Guru was being taken to be executed. He said that Afzal was the first one to greet him in jail and Afzal asked the officials to look after his inmates while he taken to be hanged. He goes on to say that the jailers wept when Afzal Guru, who was convicted for his role in the 2001 Indian Parliament attack, was taken for the execution. Kobad also talked about his life in Tihar jail.
Afzal received a death sentence for his involvement in the Parliament attack, which was upheld by the Supreme Court. Following the rejection of a mercy petition by the President of India, Afzal Guru was executed on 9 February 2013.
