Hvala lepa (thank you)!🇸🇮😊 INGREDIENTS: • 160 dried beans, soaked overnight • about a teaspoon of coarse sea salt • 2 small bay leaves • 1 liter water for the broth plus more for soaking and initial boiling • about a tablespoon of pork lard* • 1 onion, finely chopped • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped • 1 tablespoon of all-purpose flour • pinch of dried rosemary • 1 tablespoon tomato paste • 1 tablespoon vinegar • sour cream for serving* NOTES: 1. RECIPE – Adapted from the Culinary Slovenia cookbook Bean Soup/fižola juha recipe 😊 My version serves 2-3 people 2. BEANS COOKING TIME – Depending on the quality of your beans, cooking time may vary. I cooked mine for an hour and half (1.5 hours) 3. MAKE IT VEGETARIAN? – Skip the pork lard (svinska mast) and use regular vegetable or olive oil instead.
