Dobutamine is drug predominantly more selective for beta-2 receptors with little effect on beta-2 and alpha-1 receptors. It is a structural analogue of dopamine with butyl substitution on nitrogen of amine. It is a drug with significant ionotropic activity with little or no chronotropic activity.
